Our Story
Established in 1936 by Alexander Joles, the passion for rugs spans generations and is
currently run by father, Mayer, and daughters Gabriella and Rebecca Abdolaziz.
In 1980, Mayer Abdolaziz came from Iran and started working for Isfahan. His passion grew
for oriental carpets, and in 2000, he took over Alexander Joles - Isfahan, hand-picking the
finest quality woven carpets from Iran, Pakistan, Morocco, Tibet, Afghanistan and India.
For generations, Persian carpets have been celebrated as timeless works of art—woven
with history, culture, and meaning in every knot. At Alexander Joles - Isfahan, we honour
this tradition by bringing authentic, handwoven Persian rugs directly from skilled artisans
to homes around the world.
Rooted in the centuries-old weaving traditions of Persia, each carpet tells a story of
craftsmanship passed down through families. We work closely with local weavers who
preserve ancient techniques while infusing each piece with their own unique creativity.
